Shenzhen to Tai Po Jetting

Shenzhen to Tai Po Offshore Pipeline

  • Mirs Bay to Tolo Harbour, Hong Kong
  • Hong Kong and China Gas Company
  • Aker Kvaerner
  • Leighton Asia
  • 2005 - 2006

Project Highlights

Leighton installed twin submarine pipelines from a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminal in Shenzhen, Peoples Republic of China, across Mirs Bay through the Tolo Harbour to the Tai Po production plant in the northeast coast of the New territories in Hong Kong.

Each pipeline is approximately 32 kilometers long and 18 inches in diameter.

The Company designed a system that provided additional high volume high pressure pumping system support to enhance the jetting operation for the post lay burial.

These modifications and enhancements to the jetting sledge enabled Leighton's to achieve maximum allowable production within the environmental constraints imposed on this phase of the works and claim back the time lost on delays to the jetting programme due to non performance of the existing jetting system.
